This is very traditional Chardonnay — a very Burgundian-style.

Americans fell in love with Chardonnay. They also fell in love with that buttery, oaky flavor that you get with Chardonnay, and so people started adding more oak. Then, someone wine makers found out that you could actually had some maybe not the best qualities with over oaking it a little bit. Then there are people who really enjoy that heavy oak flavor and so you end up with a lot of Chardonnays that are just oak monsters … just like you’re trying to eat an oak board.

That’s not what this is.

The Stonehaus Winery American Chardonnay is light & buttery. It’s great with fish, great with chicken. Just a perfect little summer Sunday afternoon wine.
